As they sorted through
donations left by generous customers, employees at an Arizona Goodwill had the
shock of their lives this week.
A human skull with
upper teeth and a fake eye in the left socket was discovered by employees of
the Goodyear store inside a box full of taxidermy animals on September 5.
Police were called and
the skull was determined to be “an actual human skull” prompting an
investigation.
“It’s creepy! That’s
crazy we come here all the time,” one shopper said. “So many questions need to
be asked. Who was it? Are there cameras?”
Goodyear Authorities
said that the skull will be examined at the Maricopa County Coroner’s Office.
“At this point and this
is preliminary it appears to be historic, ancient, and does not appear to have
any forensic value,” Officer Lisa Berry said.
“What that means is that no crime is really attached
to this skull.”
