A Brazilian man died a
tragic death over the weekend after his boat crashed in the middle of an
Amazonian river.
Authorities in Barão de
Melgaço identified the victim as 38-year-old Joney Jose Silva Da Luz. His
ravaged body was discovered Sunday hours after the horrific incident.
The crash deadly
occurred at around 6 p.m. Saturday when the victim’s boat collided with another
along the Cuiabá River which is infested by the killer fish.
Silva and another
passenger went missing while three other passengers of the boats were
successfully rescued.
The man’s remains were
located the following day suffering countless bites from piranhas, the
Brazilian Navy said.
Divers were still looking
for the other missing passenger as of 11 September.
“An administrative procedure has been initiated to determine the cause, circumstances, and responsibility of the incident,” Navy officials said.
