Abandoned puppy heartbreaking note

The LifeLine Animal Project in Atlanta shared a heartbreaking story of a puppy that was found abandoned on the street last month with a note from its previous owner.

“We found your dog right where you left him in a space where he wouldn’t get hit by a car or harmed when wandering freely in search of sanctuary,” the shelter’s post read.

The owner was commended for his “brave act of self-sacrifice” by the rescue officials who assured him that the puppy is receiving “veterinary care, food, water, and a roof over his head” and offered to organize a reunion between the two.

Milo, according to his owner’s note, was only eight and a half months old, loved cuddles, got on well with other pets, and was fully vaccinated.

“To whom it may concern: please do not judge me on this single act alone. I am simply a human trying to do what is best for my puppy,” the devastated owner said.

“I am homeless and cannot fulfill the duties needed to care for him. I have tried rehoming him and searching for fosters. I cannot support him or myself. This is the only way I know you can take him and he’s safe. He’s a sweetheart and very-well mannered and trained.”

Milo and his owner’s story gained people’s hearts on social media with many commenting on the shelter’s page that they hoped the pair reunites.

“Milo is the sweetest! Thank you for this beautiful post. I will be rooting for Milo and his owner, and hoping they can both find safety, together,” one person wrote.
