Cat rescue

Concerned residents called the police Wednesday after they spotted a cat stranded atop a utility pole at a Columbia, Pennsylvania intersection.

Authorities at the Columbia Borough Police Department then contacted PPL, Electric Utilities which shut off the utility lines to the pole and sent a crew with a bucket truck to help the white-and-gray feline descend safely to earth.

The little curious animal did not realize that he caused 200 customers to lose power for at least 10 minutes as crews worked to solve his problem.

“The Columbia Animal Shelter graciously accepted the cat, which will be cared for until the owner is identified,” the police department said.

Later on, the cat’s owner showed up surprised that his pet jumped out of the window and caused such an ordeal.
