A flight from London to
Nice ended with a tragedy after passengers and crew members discovered that a
motionless woman they believed was asleep had actually died mid-air.
The 73-year-old
remained still in her seat as fellow passengers retrieved their carry-on
luggage when the British Airways flight reached its French destination.
Concerned passengers
tried to awaken the woman to no avail before alerting flight crews.
Paramedics arrived at
the scene and pronounced the woman dead at 10 p.m. They suspected a sudden
heart attack claimed the elderly passenger’s life mid-air.
In a statement to the Daily Mail, British Airways confirmed the tragic incident: “Sadly a customer passed away on a flight from London Heathrow to Nice.”
