CCTV footage shows an unidentified man
walking up to the Melbourne house and stealing the puppy from the front yard.
Owners, Courtney Beaumont and Lucas Brown, describe
the past three days as a total nightmare since their two-year-old
dog was stolen from their front yard on Sunday.
They are now offering a $10,000 prize for the safe and timely return of Leo, a Labrador-French mastiff mix.
"He’s our child, we would do anything for him," owner Lucas claimed to Yahoo News Australia. "We just hope they took him for financial gain and can be persuaded to give him back."
An unknown guy driving a silver Toyota
Kluger kidnapped Leo. The perpetrator can be seen approaching the
Brunswick residence in CCTV footage supplied by Victoria Police on Monday
around 4.15 pm. Leo's front gate was opened by the man after he exited
the vehicle, according to the police. He then drove away after carrying the
animal to his vehicle.
"We
went to the shops for 20 minutes and came back and he was gone," Lucas
said.
The large reward offered by the couple has
yielded "nothing substantial" thus far, and Leo's whereabouts
are still unknown. However, Courtney said that the whole incident has
been "so awful."
According to the police, the car's stolen
license plate was TCD849. It was undoubtedly possible that the suspect was
scouting out the property, according to senior constable Jessie Coletti.
